The Japanese Twitter account for Final Fantasy XVI has revealed a brief gameplay clip of the game’s trusty dog companion in action, giving you an idea of how the pooch will function during combat.
Final Fantasy XVI is scheduled for release on June 22, 2023 for PS5. The development team confirmed recently that the game will take players around 70-80 hours for 100% completion, although if you’re just interested in playing the main story, it’ll take around 35 hours.
Final Fantasy XVI’s producer, Naoki Yoshida, has said that he isn’t ruling out a possible crossover between the upcoming RPG and Final Fantasy XIV. Interestingly, the team also revealed that the highly anticipated title isn’t using the Unreal Engine 5 or Luminous Engine, but wouldn’t reveal what tech is actually powering the game.
While the game isn’t an open-world title, Yoshida-san confirmed that it will utilise large-scale maps although players will not encounter optional dungeons.
