Doug Rosen, Senior Vice President of Paramount Global, has revealed that a third-person action-RPG based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin 2020 graphic novel, is currently in the works at an unnamed studio.
Rosen told Polygon that the project will feature a more mature take on the popular series, and one that will be authentic to the story of The Last Ronin. For those unfamiliar, this story arc takes place in the future where only one of the turtles has survived, and their identity remains a mystery until the end of the comic.
While the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin game will focus on one playable character, Rosen did confirm that other characters may be playable in flashbacks. Furthermore, the project is “a few years off” at this point, but has assured fans that they have found the right studio to transform the comic into a AAA video game.
Sadly that’s about all we know so far on the game, but as it’s still a few years off, we probably won’t get any more info just yet.
