Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4 Remake will add The Mercenaries DLC on April 7, as confirmed in the game’s action-packed launch trailer.
The Mercenaries was included in the original Resident Evil 4 as an unlockable game mode, and sees players battling against waves of enemies across four areas: Village, Castle, Island, and Water World. Aside from Leon, players could unlock other playable characters including Ada Wong, Hunk, Jack Krauser, and Albert Wesker.
Resident Evil 4 was originally released in 2005 for the GameCube, and went through numerous different versions in development, most notably starting out life as an early version of Devil May Cry. The game was ultimately ported to countless other platforms, including PS2, PS3, PS4, PC, Wii, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
