Bella Ramsey, who portrays Ellie in HBO’s The Last of Us series, has revealed during an interview with GQ that she isn’t particularly worried about season 2 of the show, specifically regarding those who weren’t keen on the diversity of The Last of Us Part 2.
In case you haven’t played it, The Last of Us Part 2 features gay and transgender characters, and attracted criticism from a vocal minority for its diversity. With season 2 of the HBO series in the works, it is assumed that many of these elements will be adapted for the show.
I know people will think what they want to think. But they’re gonna have to get used to it. If you don’t want to watch the show because it has gay storylines, because it has a trans character, that’s on you, and you’re missing out … It isn’t gonna make me afraid. I think that comes from a place of defiance.
The Last of Us Part 2 was released in June 2020 for PS4, and you can read our full review here. Meanwhile, HBO’s The Last of Us has just aired its fifth episode, and you can find out what we thought in our full verdict.
