Sony Interactive Entertainment has released PS5 system update 21.01-03.10.00 today, although it’s nothing to get too excited about. It comes off the back of the release of PS5 system update 21.01-03.00.00, which improved the console’s HDR features and added a bunch of key additions. The PS5 update 21.01-03.10.00 patch notes confirmed that it simply ‘improves system performance.’ It weighs in at 902MB.
This is probably going to be very familiar to anyone who has read up on the patch notes for various PS4 updates, as they did the exact same thing over the course of many months of updates.
Sony launched the PS5 in November 2020 in the US and UK, and has confirmed that it had sold 4.5 million units by the end of that year. Recently, it had been reported that Sony has adjusted its software focus to concentrate on releasing blockbuster titles over niche experiences.
