You’ve probably guessed as much by now, but for the record, this latest PS5 firmware patch does the following:

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, seeing as we only got PS5 system update 22.02-06.00.00.42 just last month, which included a number of major additions for the console, including 1440p.
Sony launched the PS5 in the US, UK and Europe back in November 2020, and despite ongoing shortages for vital components, the system has managed to ship 21.7 million units worldwide as of the company’s latest fiscal results.
Looking ahead, the console maker is pushing into the PC and mobile markets, and is also making a concerted effort when it comes to releasing live service tiles. Despite this, PlayStation Worldwide Studios’ Hermen Hulst has said Sony won’t turn its back on major single-player titles.
