Sony launched the PS5 in the US, UK and Europe back in November 2020, and despite ongoing shortages for vital components, the system has managed to ship 21.7 million units worldwide as of the company’s latest fiscal results.

Looking ahead, the console maker is pushing into the PC and mobile markets, and is also making a concerted effort when it comes to releasing live service tiles. Despite this, PlayStation Worldwide Studios’ Hermen Hulst has said Sony won’t turn its back on major single-player titles.
