Sony and Nintendo have both announced that they are amending their policies for PlayStation Plus and Nintendo Switch Online, respectively, in order to avoid the possibility of accidental renewals.
The move comes following an investigation by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which means Sony will now get in touch with long-term PS Plus subscribers who haven’t used the service for an unspecified time, to inform them on how to cancel their membership.
If these users do not cancel their PS Plus subscription but continue to remain inactive, Sony won’t take payments until they decide to use the service again.
