Diablo IV will launch on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One in 2023, with the Necromancer confirmed as the fifth playable character in the game, Blizzard Entertainment has announced.
Furthermore, the publishing confirmed Diablo IV will support Cross-Play and Cross-Progression across all versions of the highly anticipated dungeon crawler. As previously reported, you can now sign up for a future Beta for the game.
The Necromancer class arrives with revamped undead mechanics, with players able to utilise the Book of the Dead, which is a new ability for this class, allowing players to “dominate the battlefield with deeper customisation of their undead army than ever before.”
Set decades after the events of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, Diablo IV sees the world plagued by a sinister, corrupting force. Here, the Daughter of Hatred, Lilith, has been reborn into the mortal world and seek to rule over Sanctuary once more.

Blizzard Entertainment’s President, Mike Ybarra, commented:
We can’t wait to open the gates of Hell next year—the talented team behind Diablo IV puts gameplay first in everything they do, and they have built the biggest and most ambitious vision of Sanctuary yet. This sprawling world draws deeply from the dark well of the franchise’s 25-year history and is designed around the philosophy of player choice, offering an adventure unlike anything Diablo players have experienced before.
Diablo IV is due out in 2023 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
