An ESRB Rating And Description For Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Has Been Released

The ESRB has released a rating and description for Respawn’s upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which’ll be coming in at T for Teen.

The description calls the game an “action-adventure” title, “in which players assume the role of an outlaw Jedi on the run form the galactic Empire.

“Players use lightsabers to slash and break apart alien creatures, droids, and humanoid enemies.”

A T for Teen rating is exactly where the first Star Wars Jedi game sat, a disappointment for some fans who hoped it would be a more, ‘mature’ Star Wars story.

This also probably means that combat, like the first game, will not feature Cal’s lightsaber slicing through limbs in a similar fashion to the Doom Slayer.

The furthest Survivor seems to go, according to the ESRB, is “some sequences depict characters getting impaled through the chest.”

Not that gore of that a high level of gore is necessary for a Star Wars story, it’s just the kind of thing that’s largely absent from the franchise.

And out of any other medium, video games would be a great platform to really dig into that.

For what it’s worth, the description also says “The words a*s and ‘bastard’ are heard in the game.”
