Road 96 is officially getting the prequel treatment with Road 96: Mile 0, coming to PS4, PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One on April 4, 2023, DigixArt and Ravenscourt have announced this afternoon.
Road 96: Mile 0 focuses on two teenagers, namely Zoe, who fans will recognise as one of the main players from the original Road 96, and Lost in Harmony’s Kaito. Whereas Zoe comes from a wealthy background — her father works for President Tyrak’s government as the Minister of Oil — Kaito grew up the rough and impoverished Colton City.
Having now moved to White Sands near Zoe, the two meet and become close friends, which eventually exposes Zoe to the truths behind her country and her father. Players will learn the truth behind Zoe’s decision to leave home and uncover the reason behind the 1986 Border Attack that kicks off the events depicted in Road 96.
Loan Fanise, CEO of DigixArt, comments:
In Road 96: Mile 0 we wanted to show where Zoe is coming from and why she left her comfortable life. But we didn’t create Mile 0 in the conventional way. We went the crazy route, using metaphorical music sequences where you ride along on the beliefs and doubts of Zoe and Kaito. The funny part is that YOU choose how you want them to evolve.
Road 96: Mile 0 comes out on April 4, 2023 for PS4, PS5, PC, Switch, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
