Dead Island 2 Art Director Adam Olsson has revealed that the upcoming blood-drenched zombie sequel will take players around 20 hours to complete, although it’s clear it will differ depending on how much you get around to doing in the game.
Speaking during an interview with WCCFTech, Olsson had the following to say on how much time players can expect to put into Dead Island 2:
I don’t know exactly. I think we do have guidance stating that if you take part in some secondary missions and other activities, the whole experience is around 20 hours. That’s what we have.
When asked if this included side quests, he added, “yes, some of them, but you have to consider that in addition to these contents there are the co-op mode, the collectibles and the possibility to replay the campaign with a different character, if desired.”
We also got time to chat with Dambuster Studios about Dead Island 2, so be sure to read our full interview with its creative director here. In addition, we also got some hands-on time with the game, so find out how it’s shaping up here.
Dead Island 2 is pencilled in for release on April 21, 2023 for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
