Fuse Games Is A New Studio Formed By Ex-Criterion Leads, Is Working On AAA Title

Matt Webster, the former EA Vice President and Criterion Games General Manager, has announced the formation of a new development team known as Fuse Games, and is now working on a “brand new premium AAA title.”

Fuse Games’ debut project is in the works for PC and consoles, and is “fusing uncompromising attention to game-feel with blockbuster spectacle and player-centric innovations in social gameplay, self-expression, and creativity.”

Webster is one of five major players at Criterion Games who departed the Need for Speed Unbound developer, and is now serving as studio general manager at Fuse Games. He’s joined by Pete Lake, Alan McDairmant, Steve Uphill, and Andrei Shires.

Speaking of the formation of Fuse Games, Webster commented:

Steve Pointon is listed as Fuse Games’ Companies House, who previously served at EA for 22 years as senior vice president and group general manager. However, it has not been confirmed yet whether or not Pointon has actually left the publishing giant yet.
